Neurological and psychiatric disorders remain some of the most difficult to treat in the medical field. While genetics research has identified many single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with various disorders, the understanding of overlapping mechanisms between psychiatric conditions remains incomplete. For this fellowship, I will investigate the shared genetic underpinnings of various psychiatric disorders and their comorbidity.
